If you look up John Zeidler on the web you will find he was famous for his Archtop guitars, so this is a very special build. Sadly John passed away many years ago, but the guitars that remain are a testament to his passion for creating some of the finest instruments ever. A rare flat-top made by the late John Zeidler of Philadelphia, who was noted for his archtop guitars and mandolins. The guitar is in excellent condition.

The guitar traveled across the continent to the shop of every builder - each of them adding his or her own touch to it, then passing it to the next builder. The soundboard, carved by John Monteleone, is Adirondack (red) spruce chosen by Zeidler at the beginning of the project. Tom Ribbecke carved the maple back, also provided by Zeidler. The guitar has light play wear and is in wonderful condition for being 31 years old. This guitar is consigned to John Mann's Guitar Vault by the original owner, who commissioned J.R. Zeidler to craft this guitar. The Jazz model's hand-carved top and back are graduated and tap-tuned to very close tolerances creating the big sound I spoke to John Zeidler over a month ago and asked if we could do this for him. He was touched and appreciated the spirit of it - a group of his friends and colleagues building a guitar for him as he battled his illness, a gesture of support and a way to help offset the financial burden.
